Dr. Shamim Shakibai is a physician, entrepreneur, and humanitarian committed to transforming the healthcare landscape through innovation and service. Dr. Shamim Shakibai serves as CEO and co-founder of MyPreOp, a platform that offers pre-operative medical evaluations using a combination of telemedicine and at-home testing. The service is intended to make surgical preparation more accessible and convenient for patients.
Earlier in his career, Shamim Shakibai co-founded Platinum Medical Group, a hospitalist group in the Greater Los Angeles area that was later acquired by Sound Physicians. He also held a leadership role at Cedars Sinai Medical Center and was recognized in 2019 with the Friends of Nursing Award for his role in care coordination. In 2024, he launched Priventa Health, a nonprofit focused on expanding access to primary care in Latin America. Through this organization, he has participated in medical missions and worked with local governments and nonprofits in El Salvador.
Dr. Shakibai earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from California State University, Long Beach, and a medical degree from the University of California, Davis. He serves on the board of Professionals Without Borders, has been involved in the development of Colegio Tarbiyat in El Salvador, and supports charitable organizations including the Tahirih Justice Foundation. Influenced by the principles of the Baháʼí Faith, he maintains an interest in physical wellness, travel, and community service.
